Finch on Pine

Time for another challenge over at

Challenge 50
Vintage

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, just remember, you must use and IKEsART image to be eligible for the prize.  Why not pop on over to the store too :), Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

Oh I loved this theme :) :) :) thank you Ike lol.  It seems to have been ages since I have had a chance to get my lace and pearls out and I so love these elements on my cards.

To make this card I first printed the image I have chosen to work with 'Finch on Pine' and the sentiment on Craft card.  The image was coloured with Polychromos pencils.  I used the Sizzix die 657914 for the image and the sentiment and then cut the top and bottom excess card off the sentiment. Next I used Tim Holtz distress inks around the edges, Antique Linen for the image and Brick Red for the sentiment. Finally for the image I attached lace behind and the die cut and attached this to the cream layer with foam tape.  Time to put these sections to one side and get on with the card.  I used a cream card base and added a dark brown/red square on top.  Next I raked out some cream and gold lace and sewed this to the card with gold thread.  Next, using up the bits of craft card I had left I cut a medallion using Spellbinders - Victorian Medallion 2 and some rose leaves using Spellbinders Foliage.  The roses were made using cream paper and Spellbinders-Bitty-Blossoms-6 and Tim Holtz Brick Red which was applied around the edge with my finger (cool fingerprint markes in places hahaha and one very mucky finger hehe).  The roses and leaves were put to one side until I was ready for them.  Time to get out some cream organza ribbon, I placed a strip behind the lace edging and also tied a double bow with another piece.  Some lovely lace edging I have was perfect, alas white which which I did not want so I stippled it with Tim Holtz Antique Linen and then airburshed with Promarker Ivory.  How can this be vintage without pearls :) :) so I made some pearl rings which I mixed in with the leaves and roses.  To finish off I added some Liquid Pearls to the the bow and some Snow Writer to the image.

Ingredients:-
  • Image - 'Finch on Pine' by IKEsART
  • Colouring Medium - Polychromos, Promarkers, Tim Holts Antique Linen and Brick Red Distress Inks
  • Dies - Sizzix die 657914, Spellbinders - Victorian Medallion 2,  Foliage and and Bitty-Blossoms-6
  • From my stash -  Lace, pearls, Liquid Pearls, gold thread, Snow Writer,
I am entering this project into the following challenges:-
