SQUARE CARD WITH SOMETHING ROUND

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and  Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

White space, just love it but boy do I find it hard to not remove it.  OK, so I am colour crazy and tend to colour everything but the elegance of white space is real beauty in my mind.  Anyway, for this challenge I tried my very hardest to give the white space the respect I have for it and fight the need to add more colour and texture hahahaha.

A simple card, the image was printed 5 times, one on the base mount which was then die cut and then the 4 other prints used to make the overlay circles.  I maybe should have attached each layer with foam tape to make this more obvious but I need the card to be pretty flat for posting.

Next I coloured the images and edged each circle in green along with the base mount to make the outlines more obvious.  To finish off a die cut sentiments and there we have it, nothing complicated but lots of fiddling about hahahaha.

Ingredients:-
  • image - Sellotape by IKEsART
  • colouring medium - Promarkers, Polychromos
  • dies - Spellbinders Circles, Grand Labels 1 and Die'sire - thinking of you

Challenge 269 Theme

'Anything Goes with FOR MEN'

I do love working with paper packs these days for coordinating themed papers, they lend themselves to wonderfully to die cuts :) :).
For this card I used the Oceans Blue paper pack by Panda Bear Designs, using 4 of the the 8 papers to make my themes fishing card.  Each of the paper sections were mounted on black paper after cutting and then I used some fish, a fisherman and fishing rod dies all cut in black to add more drama to the card.

Ingredients:-
  • Image - Ocean Blue paper pack by Panda Bear Designs
  • Dies - Spellbinder Squares, Memory Box Fish, Joy Crafts - Fisherman Standing and Fishing Fun Float and X-Cut labels
  • From my Stash -  black paper, birthday sentiment stamp

Travel/Holidays

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and  Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

Now as we all know, females going on holiday are not much good at travelling light (well I am not anyway, I head to the UK with light luggage but boy, returning to Saudi it is fingers crossed at check in hahaha (nothing sinister in my luggage, just lots of craft or equine stuff :) ).  And so, for this challenge it had to be a case I made, truly representing me and my travels.  This case is also more travelled that you might think!!!!!  I started the project just before returning to the UK for a few weeks and did not manage to get it finished so it ended up going in the real suitcase as I guessed I would need a project or two to distract me while overseas.  Alas, time did not allow much in the way of crafting at all, a couple of easy cards but nothing that required any real concentration was all I managed.  That meant this wee case had a 6 week hibernation in the real suitcase and then returned to Saudi - a total of nearly 10,500 kilometres :) :) :)

I found a template for the suitcase which I then cut on my die cutter using an A3 piece of card, the image was printed to fit the front of the case and attached. Everything was then coloured with Spectrum Noir inks, first problem, the inks coloured very differently on the two paper types grrrrrrr.  I then started colouring the peony flowers with Polychroms and gave up hahahaha. It was at this point the case was placed in the real case for the long journey.  Back in Saudi and unpacking eventually done (not something I like doing and tend to only unpack as I need things lol) and put the brain into action to work out how to balance the colouring of the case with the front panel which was eventually solved by air brushing with Promarkers.  Out with the Polys again and finish the colouring then use a gold pen for the dots and leaves.  The tag was made with a new die I got and stamped with a suitable sentiment, this was then attached to the case with some chain and held together with a wee brad.  The handle, before I forget, was covered with some matt gold paper.

Ingredients:-

  • colouring medium - Promarkers, Polychromos, SN inks

Poinsettia Bag

Hello folks.  We have another challenge at One Stitch At A Time so how about popping over to see all the fabulous creations by the design team.  The prize this month is a $10 coupon to spend in the store :)

Challenge 268 Theme

'Anything Goes with BAGS AND BOXES'

Gosh, it is ages since I have decorated a bag and that is a such a shame as I find bags so useful to add a bit of something special for those wee gifts we give :)

For this bag I started by disassembling the bag, removing the handles and opening all but the side glued area.  I then ran the bag through my embossing machine using a Tim Holtz texture embossing folder.  You can see the effect better here on the close up.

Next I used the image from the Poinsettia image and paper back by Coosty Creations and coloured the image digitally.  This was then fussy cut and adhered to the bag - should say I reassembled the bag first lol.  It was then onto mega amounts of die cutting to make all the small poinsettia flowers around the top edge.  To finish off I used silver ribbon for my bow and added two silver bells and a couple of wooden beads and then one large die cut poinsettia.  The text is from a pack I bought many moons ago, one of those packs that have 20 of the same thing in and take ages to use up hahahaha. A blast of Crafters Companion Silver spray over the poinsettias and done.
Ingredients:-
Poinsettia Digital Stamp and Paper Pack

PUN INTENDED

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and  Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

OK, a little bit naughty with this one hahaha.  When I saw this challenge theme I asked Ike to draw me sellotape in a dispenser - thanks Ike for helping me out as I was totally stuck.  I do have to admit this challenge theme required a Google search for inspiration and finding this idea did make me giggle so.  Are you wondering yet what the pun is?   Should I hold you in suspense or reveal all . . . .  let me dwell on that a bit, OK that is long enough - 'sex tape' hahahaha

I printed the tape dispenser twice and fussy cut, then coloured one pink and one blue and decided on no shading for once, just straight forward easy colouring.  for the tape sections I used washi tape.  Yep a really simple card in so many respects but sometimes simplicity is the way to go and that was the case for me this time.

Ingredients:-
  • image - Sellotape by IKEsART
  • colouring medium - Promarkers
  • from my stash - washi tape
