Hydrengea

International Art & Soul, a challenge which has been put together to incorporate any type of craft, paper, wood, flowers, recycling, glass - the world is your oyster :).  Come on over an join us with you artwork :)

Challenge #11 - Flowers

I don't often use design paper but this time I had a sheet which worked perfectly for what I wanted to do.  The hydrangea stamp was a freebie from a magazine along with the sentiment.  I first stamped the hydrangea and then with a bit of masking then stamped the lace gold edge.  Next I stamped the sentiment (no more squint stamping like on this card as I have just invested in the Tim Holtz tool lol). I coloured the hydrengea with polychromos crayons and then finished off with a second sentiment which I fussy cut, braid and a gold mesh bow.  Oh, I forgot the bee was from the stamp set too, he is fussy cut and attached with dimension adhesive.

Blue Christmas

Challenge 91
Anything Goes with an optional TWIST .... Blue Christmas

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and  Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

I had so much fun with this challenge, not only a favourite colour theme but also a chance to get good and mucky lol.  I used watercolour paper and printed the 3 Kings images.  I then went to town with Spectum Noir tints and Brusho pigments along with my my trusty spray bottle.  It was then out with a snowflake stamp and using silver embossing powder.  For the 3 Kings I used an embossing pen to go round the edges and then silver embossing powder.  To lift the 3 Kings images a bit I then filled them with accent liquid, you can't really see the effect by you can feel it when you hold the card as they have a cool plastic feel.  The finishing off was some silver ribbon, material snowflake coloured light blue and a silver brad.  The tag was die cut and treated the same way as the card background and finished off with a Christmas peel off sticker.

Ingredients:-
  • image - King 1, King 2 and King 3 by IKEsART
  • colouring medium - S/N tints and Brusho pigments
  • other items - silver ribbon, silver brad, material snowflake, silver embossing powder, snowflake stamp, Crystal Dimensions, tag die, peel off sticker.

Challenge #10 - For Men

A fun card to make using paper from a magazine and Sheena Douglas stamps and clock die.  The clock stamp was coloured with Spectrum Noir 1st Generation pens which I have a wee stash of and a gold paint pen.  The clock overlay die cut was cut on brown card and then coloured and rubbed with gold guilders cream to try and give the whole thing on old rusty look.  The background paper was from a magazine I bought and I then stamped Sheena Douglas cogs all over it in black and brown inks.  The quote was added to the paper and printed before I carried on with the rest of the card - holding my breath I placed the text correctly as there was not going back.  Finally the hands of the clock were cut form another die and coloured with my gold pen and a gem added, the sentiment was stamped using a free stamp from another magazine I had bought.

Greek Sea View

Challenge 90
Anything Goes with an optional TWIST .... Photo Inspiration

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and  Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

I am still trying to make a CAS card lol.  For this creation I used one of the images from the Greek Sea View series.  Following the optional twist theme - Photo Inspiration I also used the actual photo to create the colouring for design paper and the image.  The photo was placed into Photoshop and mega amounts of blurring were created to end up with a wonderfully soft line-less mix of the colours.  I then printed the paper to make the backing sheet.  Next I used the same paper (digital version) and placed Ike's Greek Sea View image on top.  It was then out with the rubber to remove all the areas of the blurred photo that I did not need leaving only the areas of the image coloured in.  The sentiment is stamped with distress inks, two colours to match in with the coloured image.

Ingredients:-
  • image - Greek Sea View by IKEsART
  • colouring medium - Digital and Distress Inks
  • gems, clear sentiment stamp, Spellbinder square and oval dies
