Spring has sprung!!

I have just got hold of some dies from Spellbinders and X-Cut and just needed to try them out.  I am an avid die cutter, using my Black Cat for most things I make but for the sake of speed I thought I would give these dies a try and run them through my Cuttlebug.  I have also had a stash of flowers for some time but not really used them, however today, after having chosen to use a lovely DP paper with lilies on I found some lilies in my stash, yep, they had to go on the card too along with some yellow roses and green leaves.  A fun card to make, not my usual style but experimenting can be such fun <g>

Recipe:-
  • White Linen card from Craft Creations
  • Digi - Mo's Digital Pencil, 'Shirley'
  • DP papers, ribbon, brads and flowers from my stash
  • Spellbinder die - fantastic flourish two
  • X-Cut - large tags

Good Girl

Hello folks.  We have another challenge at One Stitch At A Time so how about popping over to see all the fabulous creations by the design team.

Challenge #159

Theme ' Bright'

The sponsor this week StitchyBear Digital Stamps with a prize of $9 to spend in the store.  To win this prize you need to use a digi from the StitchyBear store.

I was able to select and image from one of my favourite creators, the amazing Stitchy and it really was not easy, she has so many wonderful stamps.  In the end I opted for 'Good Girl', isn't she wonderful :)

Recipe:-
  • White Linen card from Craft Creations
  • Shape card template which I designed and cut with my Black Cat
  • Digi - Good Girl by Stitchy - which I coloured, cut out and applied to the card with foam tape
  • Background paper designed by me and printed
  • To keep the bright look I cut a clear transparency and sprayed it with ProMarkers Sunflower, Berry Red, Hot Pink and Lipstick Red and then placed it behind the cut out area.  Turned out pretty good I think, looks like stained glass in real life. I only attached it at the bottom so I would form a third layer to the card base.
  • Gold Stickles were used on the trim of the dress and the gift
  • Roco Metallic Gold pen was used for the heels on the shoes, bracelet and ankle chain
  • To finish off I used some double sided sticky tape which I cut into the shape I needed and stuck loads of gems on from my stash.  As there was quite a lot of sticky area left I sprinkled super fine glitter on top and then stuck this section to the card.

It's a bag day!!!

This weeks challenge over at One Stitch At A Time and it was ALI's turn to pick for Tracey and me.  Ali chose the beautiful digi 'Butterfly Frame' by Jessica of Floppy Latte Designs

Challenge #158 Theme ' Anything Goes'

Sponsor this week StitchyBear Digital Stamps

Winning prize is all the images used by the DT used in challenge #156.  To win this prize you need to use a digi from the StitchyBear store.

I decided to use the image on the front of a gift bag.  My mum love a pretty bag to put gifts in (we tend to recycle them from one member of the family to the other so I wonder how long this one will last <g>).  This is a new project for me having not decorated a bag before and I must admit it was a bit of fun, certainly gave the opportunity to go over the top with embellishments.

Recipe:-
  • Gift bag I had stashed away
  • Digi printed twice so I could fussy cut the butterfly layer which I stuck on with foam tape.  I created a layer behind the digi too with a verse on it and 'with love' sentiment.
  • Leave were clipart from IClipart which I converted to svg files and then cut on my Black Cat.  The leaves were then embossed with my Cuttlebug
  • On my last shopping spree I found some really fun glittery plastic lacy stuff which I had to buy, this was sprayed with adhesive spray and attached to the bag before I applied the digi
  • Pearls from my stash were added around some of the leaves
  • To finish off I a bit of lace I had and some turquoise ribbon for a bow and attached this to the handle of the bag

Mermaid Love

What a fun card this has been to make.  Some time ago I treated myself to some wonderful digi's by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff, they are the sort of digi's you use when you have time to enjoy the wonderful artwork you are colouring in.  The digi for this card is 'Pink Ribbon Mermaid' available from Scrapbook Stamper

Recipe:-
  • White Linen card from Craft Creations
  • Digi - 'Pink Ribbon Mermaid' by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff which I digitally coloured in white so I could place it on the background paper, print and then colour the mermaid with my ProMarkers.
  • Background paper from a photo from IClipart which I printed twice.  The base layer was lightened to make a contrast between it and the top layer with the digi.
  • Dried leaves and flowers from some back street shop in Thailand
  • Mounts for sentiment tag designed by me and cut on my Black Cat
  • Text cut in white vinyl and stuck to the top tag layer
  • Arctic Ice Stickles used for all the bubbles, unfortunately they have not photographed very well
  • ProMarkers used:- skin; Ivory and Blush, Hair; Sandstone, Cinnamon, Cocoa, Burnt Umber and Umber, Mermaid, Ice Grey 1, 2, 3 4 and 5, Pink Carnation, Bluebell, Primrose and Powder Blue; Leaves Lime Green and Moss Green

Hope you are better soon!!!

No I am not feeling under the weather today just felt like creating a get well card, well you never know when it will come in handy <g>.  I just love the colour combination of this card which was inspired by a challenge I saw this week.

The digi used was 'Get well circ' by Hope Jacare and available from  StitchyBear stamps.  The pack has two flower circles in it, one with the get well text and the other without, great value and such a fun digi to colour.

Recipe:-
  • White Linen card from Craft Creations
  • Promarkers
  • Cut out swirls which I made and cut on my Black Cat
  • Purple Angle Hair which I sprayed with adhesive and applied to the coloured backing paper, just for a bit of texture and to help match up the colour which was too bright
  • ProMarkers - Maroon, Sunflower, Purple and Marsh Green
  • Gold Stickles - yep got to have that bit of bling!!!!

Angel

I have this beautiful digi from Digi Darla called 'Angel on Bridge' and have been itching to colour it but could never think of a card to use it for until now <g>

The challenge required a card to be made linked to a song.  Browsing through my stamps I came up with loads of ideas but could I think of a song.  Off to work the next day I asked a friend her favourite song and she chose Angel by Robbie Williams.  Back home, another look through my digi's and I was so excited to find the one I have used which fits so perfectly with the song lyrics, it even had a waterfall in the background.  I coloured the image with a blue toned background and only used the colours on the children, bridge and of course the angel.

I decided to make a Mother's Day card with this image, my Mum is my angel.  She is still very much alive lol but we live a distance apart, she in the UK me in Saudi but even though there are many miles between us I know she is always by my side.

Recipe:-
  • Card stock from Craft Creations
  • Digi from Digi Darla - 'Angel on Bridge'
  • Backing paper, gosh I have no idea of the company, I bought it so many years ago, a great big pad of 12x12 in the sale when I first started making cards
  • Mulberry paper from Thailand trip, some little back street store
  • Ribbon from local craft shop, Al Zamil, in Khobar, Saudi Arabia
  • Flowers from Thailand
  • Charm from Hobby Craft
  • Ice Stickles on the angels wings for a bit of bling
Song Lyrics for this card (just the chorus) - Angle by Robbie Williams
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call,
she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead

Play TIme

I saw a rather cute challenge was on the go at Tip Top Tuesday and decided to make a card using a digi from Digi Darla called 'Skate Girl', she is just a bit to cute don't you think <g>

I seem to be into purple and orange at the moment, don't know what the story is but a couple of weeks ago all my cards seemed to be blue and yellow (must be a mood thing!!!!!)  For this card I coloured the girl skater and fussy cut her. The background had me a bit stuck, pattern paper was not working, flowers really didn't work with this image, plain/embossed paper looked flat.  In the end I cut the right side of the card so the digi would fit nicely but add a bit of dimension instead of a plain square card.  That certainly helped, then I designed my own backing paper using an image of a skate park.  It was great fun playing around with some of the effects you can get in design software and I found an effect which I thought was great, you can see the skate park but there is not so much information that the digi gets lost in it.  Next was the sentiment topper which I printed and then using my Black Cat cut around and also created a shadow layer in the darker purple colour.  This was mounted to the card with foam tape along with the digi.  To finish off and just a a teeny bit of bling I added three orange crystals.  The inside of the card was lined in a slightly mottled paper which I had in my stash, super lucky as the colour was just perfect.  Isn't it such a great feeling when you find something in your stash that you have hung onto 'just in case' finds the perfect use, I do :)
