Krazy Kritters

Time for another challenge over at
and this fortnight it is
KRAZY KRITTERS

We are onto the second week of the challenge so there is still plenty of time for you to enter and win the fabulous prize of $15 to spend in the IKEsWORLD store and an extra goodie pack :)  To win the prize or be voted in the top 3 you must use and IKEsWORLD digi, lots to choose from so why not pop on over to the shop and have a look around.

Wow this was a hard one :)  I chose to use the fun digis Dippy Duckz, that was the easy bit.  The hard part came when trying to think what to create as these are not the sort of digis I opt to work with, when I see digis like this I think kids or cute, not my favourite genres - don't get me wrong, I am not moaning :)  One of the things I love best about being on a DT is the narrowing down of choice re digis/themes and the challenges of what they entail.  I think I surprise myself at times with what is turned out.  OK, back to my creation.  I stared and stared at the digis, had an idea, dismissed it, had another idea again dismissed and then the light came on - Pop Art.  I have never done anything down this line before and somehow a knock off Andy Warhole concept seemed just perfect.  Once I had the basic idea I needed to develop it a bit and decided to play around with sayings, the result being 'An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away'.  In the UK we sometimes refer to the Dr. as the QUACK (hope no doctors are reading this, if you are a doctor please don't take offense :)  ) On the bottom right of the card, in the square that says 'A Duck A Day' I have the rest of the sentiment hidden underneath, just pull the button and open the door to see 'Keeps The Quack Away' hahahahahaha.  Each square of the card was cut out and mounted at one of three heights, flat on the card, one layer of foam tape or two layers of foam tape.  Voila - done and pretty happy with this rather odd card :)  Oh forgot to mention I added wiggle eyes to each duck - kinda cute!!!

Card lying flat showing the different heights of the squares.

  1. Ordering your thoughts to create this card may have driven you 'quackers' but there is nothing 'ditzy' about the completed card 'duck' (term of affection). Mind you, I thought I was going quackers when I was enjoying reading about your holiday and my screen flashed and went black then, instead of admiring lions I'm seeing 7 googly eyed ducks staring back at me. :-) I thought I'd finally 'quacked' !!!
This card is great fun .....yes, very Andy Warhol whose humour always makes me smile .....so I'm smiling now. This is a great fun card that I'm enjoying enormously. Well done you. Love you xxx ♥ ♥
