Christmas Fairy

This is going to have to be such a fast post, it has taken me almost an hour to get a decent Internet connection speed and can't guarantee for how long :(

Polkadoodles have a SIR challenge at the moment but are giving away the cutest little fairy to those who wish to participate - I just could not resist.

For my card I used mauve angle hair to cover the base, coloured the digi and cut out using Diesire Enchanted Spring die and Spellbinders Adorning Squares 7. ProMarker Metallic Gold was used with the spray gun to tint the edges of the top mount around the fairy.  Pearls and gold Stickles were used to decorate the mounts.  The flowers are white roses with I colour sprayed Promarkers in shades of purple then tinged the edges with Extreme Gold Glitter, these were tied together, a gold angle, gold metallic thread and purple bow were added.  I must admit, I love how the flowers turned out :)

There seems to have been a lot of Christmas preparations in the crafty world going at the moment and this is something I am far from used to (I only start thinking about Christmas a couple of days before the day not being one for all the commercial hype <g>).  There - moan over for now :)

For this card I used an image by our gorgeous Stitchy called 'Sweet Santa' available from The Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet.  I thought I would do something a little different and put the digi on the inside of the card so when you look at the card from the front of Santa's house, you look through the window and can see Santa preening himself ready for the upcoming celebrations.  He has such a busy night on December 24th so I hope he gets paid overtime :)

Inside of card - I designed the wallpaper for Santa's bedroom with white roses, I have a feeling Mrs. Clause would choose this so I hope she is pleased hahahahahaha

Just a Note

For this card I used some amazing paper I had in a box or bits and bobs I had collected which I then embossed with and Embossalicious 6x6 folder.  I coloured a digi by Nicecrane Designs called Dolls From Japan # 3 DS  which I added a grey edge to and cut out in a circular design.  Black lace was ruffled and added around the edge of the digi circle and then this was attached to the card.  Marianne Design Craftables - Branch 2 was used with black card and three black buttons were added as the finishing touch.

Kingfisher In The Rushes

Just a quick post with this Kingfisher card.  I used two copies of the fab digi by Delicious Doodles so I could fussy cut the kingfisher. The top layer was then embossed with clear embossing powder and attached with my beloved foam tape for added dimension.  The lace was originally white but I coloured it with ProMarker Duck Egg so it would match the card.  Liquid Pearls were used on the lattice work and around the edge of the curve.  The insert was printed and the edges finished off with Pearl Ex - not used them before as had no idea what to do with them but decided to go round the edge of the insert with my Zig-Zag glue pen and apply the Pearl-Ex with a paint brush - worked a treat and will be using this method again in the future <g>.  I used copper to match the colour of the rushes, you can just see it peeping through behind the lattice work.

StitchyBear Digital Outlet

It was my teamie Tammylee's turn to chose a digi for us to work with and she chose this fab image called Lady Pirate by our awesome creator Ike.  Not my usual image to work with but perfect for the 'out of the box' thoughts.  I have a pet hate for guns of any description and it was the pistol in the digi which jumped out at me.  All I could think of was bullet holes <g>.  Following that thought I designed a background paper with lots of bullet holes all over it.  The grey colour scheme I think happened accidentally - obviously I was in a grey area with the pistol made worse by the bullet ridden DP lol. The DP was then embossed with an Die'sire embossing folder.  l I coloured the digi with ProMarkers and fussy cut her, attaching her to the card with foam tape on the rocks section. The ship image is from Iclipart which I cut out and placed so it appeared to be coming from behind the rocks.  Just to impress my sister I have added a real feather to the pirate ladies hat - it is a really lovely white fluffy one (sorry could not resist):)

With not having made an easel card for a while I thought I would make this card one.  On the inside/base of the card I added a Happy Birthday greeting and placed it around yet another bullet hole - this is certainly a bang bang card!!!!

It's a Bug Day

A fun card to make <g>  I used Spellbinder dies to make the easel card and a new digital stamp and paper pack called Ladybird Luncheon available from the StitchyBear Digital Outlet.  ProMarkers were used for the colouring of the 11 ladybirds - yes I counted them <g>.  I added green leaves for contrast and some white roses, then to finish off the cutest wee ladybirds which I have had for a while but just adore <g>.  Black ribbon with red spots was added as it was just perfect for this card I think.  The sentiment reads 'Happy Birthday Beautiful Lady'.

CAS Thank You

A very simple monochromatic CAS card, For this card I very simple coloured the digi in a light aqua colour, leaving the black of the digi to do the talking so so speak.  The digi was mounted on a background using the same colour and this in turn was mounted on the backing paper which is a gradient for the same colour to white.  Thank you text was added and again the same aqua blue was used.  For contrast black lace was added to the digi mount and, my favourite, a few pearls - I just love pearls <g>
