Challenge #96
Gratitude

This fortnights challenge 'Gratitude' has been chosen by Maggie.

I love Maggie's thinking for this challenge theme as it gave me the 'get out' which I needed.  I don't make Thanksgiving card so when that is the theme it is often a wasted creation for me but by using the word 'Gratitude' instead I was able to make a very useful Thank You card instead.  You are a super start Maggie :) :)

I do love playing with Alcohol markers and have tried them of a few different paper types to see if I could get them to work as Yuppo paper is pretty expensive.  This morning I came across a video, 'how-to create a background with alcohol inks on vellum' by Creationsceecee using vellum.  Just had to have a play and give this a go. Honestly I don't like the effect as much as Yuppo but great fun to do, useful to know and I have loads of vellum which I don't use much so this technique will help use it up lol.  Once the background was created I went down a very simple route of die cutting the flower our of gold card, and stamping the sentiment on more vellum.  A super simple card to make which was lots of fun and very rewarding.  A nice wee addition to my card collection as always needing a thank you card.

I am entering this card in the following challenges : =

  1. Jane, this is a fabulous card. I do love the background and then the stark black flower flowing up the middle. It is very striking. Glad I could help with your gratitude cards. Hugs, Maggie

  2. This is soooo pretty! I don't send out Thanksgiving cards either (I might this year because I miss my family so much)
