Veil of Petals

Just a quick post from me before the grandson arrives for his tea while his mum is out at uni.  This canvas has been a challenge and a half but after having made so many cards and often spending the hours on the intricate colouring I wanted a way to keep the image in view for longer than a few days.  I have not coloured an Aurora Wings image this size before hence the extra time it has taken but oh such an enjoyable time I have had, well worth it.

The canvas size is 20x20 cm canvas and the image used AURORA WINGS_Veil-of-Petals.  I printed the image out to the size of the canvas, alas not the best paper for colouring as is fairly flat 120gms printer paper but it works.  The main part of the image was coloured with Polychroms - black and Light Grey, an experiment to see how I could do with just two pencils and three shades of green only used on the eye as I wanted that to really stand out.  To carry the green theme through the image I used l Lime Ice Stickles on the dew drops on the flowers.  Once the image was coloured I then used strong adhesive spray to stick it onto the canvas.  The edges were trimmed and folded over and I used black ribbon to go around the edges and some more of the Stickles on the outer corners.  The flourish embellishments are from Crafters Companion and the stamped sentiment one I had in my stash.

Fabulous coloring with only TWO! pencils and I love how you've carried a bit of green throughout with the added subtle sparkle of the Stickles. Amazing canvas and what a lovely swirl and sentiment.
