Shoes

Time for another challenge over at

Challenge 35
Things With Wings

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, just remember, you must use and IKEsART image to be eligible for the prize.  Why not pop on over to the store too :), Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

I have gone a bit made today I think in making two cards for this challenge, just could not decide if I wanted leopard or zebra hahahahaha. Think I had planned to get really mucky today so with the help of adhesive spray, gold leaf sheets, black glitter, super strong glue I think I achieved my aim - I am covered in sparkly bits that are so stuck on me I think only a hot bath is going to remove them and there is gold leave rubbed into places it does not belong hahahaha.

Being in an adventurous mood I am making a couple of easel cards using acetate, something I have wanted to try for a while and the image I am working with is one of the shoes from the 'Shoes Set of 4' by IKEsART.

To begin with I cut my white card blank and then cut the same size using acetate.  The acetate blank was attached to the white blank with permanent adhesive spray.  This way I have created the area to write the card on the inside leaving the top and the fold section free for decoration.  I had to do this as both cards are using fur fabric and it would not be very satisfactory to create a writing area on this surface.
Next I printed the shoe image and sections of the wings which I will be paper piecing
I have had some gold leaf sheets for ages but I was unable until last year to find an adhesive that would work with them.  Then I forgot all about them till last week hahahahaha so this week I am using them for the first time.  To practice I cut a couple of doilies and glued them together to make them good and strong.  I will be cutting the lacy sections and using them but the inner bit is for the bin.
Next I cut each of the lacy sections, some I stuck on the shoe to give an embossed effect and the other I set to playing with the gold leaf before copying the process on the shoe.  This Flitter Glue is brilliant but oh wow - is it sticky and what a mess I was in and loving every moment of it.
Success, and oh so gold, loving this effect.
This test piece was then used on the sentiment.
I then covered the main part of the shoe in the same way.  For the sole and heel I used black glitter and then added some black lace to the soul too.
Onto attacking the zebra card.  I used embossing powder on the soul and heel and then using my fun way of only embossing in some areas embossed the main part of the shoe with my embossing folder and rolling pin.  More fun hahahaha.
Here you can see the finished embossing.
Next I used a black metallic Promarker and went over the embossed sections, I did not want shine on this shoe, more or a material look.
To finish off both cards I added my wings, both shoes have paper pieced wings.  The gold and black shoe has gold edging and black glitter.  The base of the card was then finished off with some black sparkly ferns, a gold rose and some small gold beaded stems. I just love the way the sentiment seems to be floating in mid air :)
The inside of the card was finished with a simple paper layer which I designed in Illustrator.
The zebra shoe was finished off with paper pieced wings, each having magenta edges, edged in the black metallic Promarker and coloured in with my ordinary black Promarker.  This time to finish off I added a string of pearls, yummy zebra bow and three white roses which I coloured with my magenta Promarker.
