OSAAT - Feather Flourish Hat

Hello folks.  We have another challenge at One Stitch At A Time so how about popping over to see all the fabulous creations by the design team.

We have some changes going on with the way we run the challenge, we are now going fortnightly with a prize for the random winner and badge for the Top 3 chosen by the DT.

Challenge #221

Theme 'Anything Goes with the Colour Orange'

The sponsor is StitchyBear Digital Outlet with a 5 image October prize pack. Remember if you use one of the store items you can enter as many times as you want <g>.

This week I thought I would do something different and chose to work with a die cut file by Floppy Latte called Feather Flourish Hat Silhouette Digital Die Cut File and use this on an orange box for a friend of mine who is orange mad <g>

To begin with I cut the template for the box on my die cutter.  The original pattern for this box came in a Tattered Lace magazine and I did try to cut it manually but my hands were not having it :)  I also cut four rectangles which will be used on four of the sides.

Now, not being to bright, I stuck each of the panels together and then thought, oops, I have forgotten to do the embossing I planned.  Thankfully I was able to get this semi assembled box through my machine using an A4 embossing folder by Embossilicious, two runs, one covered 4 panels, turn the box round and do the other end.  Luck was on my side.
Here you can see the embossing folder pattern more clearly.
Next I covered each of the four rectangles with black lace and edges with black peel off line stickers.
To finish the panels I cut four Magnolia Flowers from Susan's Garden by Sizzix.  The petals are in orange and the leaves in black as I only want two colours on this box. To finish these off I added some black artificial flower stamens and then orange and black Stickles for a bit of bling.
Onto the die cutting file by Floppy Latte - isn't she just a beauty.  I cut her four times in vinyl.  These will be placed on four of the sides of the box with the rectangle panels in between.
Using one of the dies from the Spellbinders-floral flourishes I cut nine the same.  Eight of these are for the top of the box and the ninth for the label.
Right, what is next, ah - print the label then cut with Spellbinders scalloped Ovals with a black shadow layer too.  I also cut a larger version of the Feather Flourish Hat Silhouette Digital Die Cut File and chopped most of it away as I only wanted part of it for the label.

And here we have the completed label, well almost complete, it still needs the ribbon.  I made up the sentiment which really sums this special friend up, she is such a giving and fun person, a special person indeed.
Right, all done, I have three views of the box to show you from different angles.  I will be putting a piece of my glass etching in this box and giving it to my friend as a thank you gift :)
