Sweet Pea Stamps
Today is my day to showcase an image from Sweet Pea Stamps for Variation Week were we are all using the same image, Forest Blue by the awesome Ching Chou Kuik
The wings caused me a problem, with printing the digi directly onto the background this meant the wings were white and in place. I could have printed a second digi and fussy cut the wings to to late for the I have only just thought of it. What I did instead was to colour the wings in a matching blue to the background and then used green tulle to enhance their transparency. More Crystal Stickles added for a bit of bling.
Time to add some butterflies. These were cut using Cherry Lyn Designs Mimi Butterflies and coloured with my Promarkers
and then finish off with more Crystal Stickles.
Here are the Promarkers I have used in this creation.
Some time ago I bough a bunch of velvet feel ribbon with leaves and thankfully I saw it in my box last week. When I saw the leaves on the digi I knew I had the perfect ribbon to work with <g>. Once the ribbon was in place I added a big blue bow and the butterflies (well only one butterfly as when I put the three on the card became cluttered). I hope you like the finished creation and thanks for taking the time to read this, hope I have not bored you lol.
Apart from the awesome digi I just loved the name and the thought of a blue forest for my background seemed perfect. I love photography and take all sorts of strange things and I knew I had several images of forests. Time to hunt one out and edit in Photoshop, playing with the colour balance to transform the photo into a blue forest. Next I overlaid a transparent to blue gradient to enhance the halo effect on the digi. I love doing this sort of thing <g>. After printing the paper with the digi in place I added Crystal Stickles to the dotted halo of the digi. Time now for a coffee break while this dries.
There is no die cutting on this card, or distraction from the digi, I had decided I wanted the digi large (mind you that is a challenge to colour) and really be the one thing that jumps out at you when you see the card. I have coloured her with Promarkers. The wings caused me a problem, with printing the digi directly onto the background this meant the wings were white and in place. Wow, what an awesome card on which to showcase the awesome "Forest Blue" image. Oh how I am with you in making her the focus of your creation and she looks wonderful set against the photo edited misty blue forest background. It's so mystical and serene.
ReplyDeleteIn keeping the image 'large' it is such a joy to be able to admire and respect your colouring talents ... and the sparkling halo and tuelle wings give "Forest Blue" all the delicacy and gentleness that her body language conveys.
I imagine this card would be a dream to hold in one's hands, especially with the wonderful texture of your velvet ribbon leaf spray. That's very beautiful. It's so nice to see you making beautiful bows without feeling the need to apologise for them. You have cracked the frustrations so well now. Well done. xxx
A very beautiful card treasure. Lots of love xxx ♥ ♥ ♥
