Challenge #116
Birthday
This fortnights challenge 'Birthday' has been chosen by Chriss.

I used a lovely CCK rubber stamp image for this card which a friend gave me.  The base of the card was embossed with a snake-skin embossing folder.  Copics were used to colour the image which I then masked.  I added some silhouette stamping, masked the moon area and then used Distress Oxides for the card background and the embossed layer.

Birthday with Biffo

Come and join us at I ❤️Promarkers, our challenge theme is

 'Birthday'

I can think of a few people this card would be perfect for, my hubby being one of them hahaha.  He thinks birthdays are rather over rated to the point he often forgets a family birthday - yes even mine ROFL.  For this card I covered the card base with green paper then added a layer of hand made paper which I had mounted on black paper then embossed.  Biffo by Dr. Digi was coloured with Promarkers then die cut with the square stitching die.  To this I then added the ribbon bar from a bow making die and also the die cut birthday sentiment which was mounted on foam tape for a bit of height.  It was devilish trying to die cut the soft hand made paper which I had used double sided adhesive backing on, especially the birthday cut.  In the end, after 3 attempts I left the die cut paper in the die, pressed this hard onto white card and then, with the cut still in the die used the die to cut around with my craft knife.  Worked a treat and I was able to stop any ripping or deforming of the die.

Stella Facebook Birthday

The challenge this fortnight at I ❤️Promarkers is

 'Birthday'

and the sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Stamps with $12 gift code for the Store
I just could not resist using this image :) :) FB is annoying me at the moment, especially with the new changes and I now find myself only looking if I have been tagged or a message sent.  I do try to check out some groups so I can keep in touch but as for scrolling through my wall, well that is just not happening beyond the first few posts.  Image used is Stella Facebook Birthday  I coloured the Image with Pormarkers - Salmon Pink, Baby Pink, China Blue, Baby Blue, Ivory and Blush and for the background I made a mask of the 'f' placed that on my card and used Pan Pastels for the background.  The backing paper is a favourite of mine, I have a few sheets in different colours and it is made from pineapple leaves which I got in Thailand several years ago.  I went with a fairly empty suitcase and brought lots of paper back home with me as I was so cheap there :) Been a great purchase as the sheets are all A1 size, think I must have enough to last me a lifetime of card making lol.

Captain Thunderpants

The challenge this fortnight at I ❤️Promarkers is
 'Birthday'
and the sponsor for this challenge is Dr Digi's House of Stamps with a prize of 2 digital images of the winners choice.

For my design creation I have used the Dr. Digi's House of Stamps Captain Thunderpants image, such a cool image and so much fun hahaha.

The image was coloured with Promarkers and then I designed the star burst sentiment on Illustrator and then also coloured with Promarkers.  For the background I used some Union Jack paper I have had for ages and die cut it with a jigsaw die, the pieces were then mounted on dark blue paper.  Up until now the card was going quite well but I had some stray ink on my working mat and only discovered that when I lifted the card blank up grrrrrr - ended up stamping the back of the card to hide the small spots.  Now I am not sure what planet my head then went off to but think it might be because I enjoyed stamping the back but I decided to stamp the red backing paper I had used to cover the front of the card - I know it does not really match the theme of the card but it is the only large suitable for males large stamp I have.  Overall I do think the card has a super hero look about it, hope you do too :)

Promarkers used : - sunkissed pink, dusky pink, blush, ivory, warm grey 4, crimson, ruby red, royal blue, china blue, ice grey 4 3 & 1, gold, tulip yellow

Happy Hour Horace

The challenge this fortnight at I ❤️Promarkers is
 'Birthday'
and the sponsor for this challenge is Dr Digi's House of Stamps with a prize of 2 digital images of the winners choice.

For my design creation I have used the Dr. Digi's House of Stamps Happy Hour Horace image.

Oh so much fun with this image, all the time while colouring him with my Promarkers I couldn't help but think of my hubby, he hates birthday's with a passion saying it is just another day.  I teased him none stop on the birthday he became a pensioner and thankfully lived to tell the tale hahaha.  Happy Hour Horace is certainly not a happy birthday bunny or maybe he does not have his teeth anymore and forgot to put his dentures in :)

Challenge #57
Birthday

This fortnights challenge of Birthday has been chosen by DT sister CraftyGirl.  I had so much fun making this card and trying to get the hang of masking.  This awesome stamp was part of the Creative Stamper set with magazine #107.  The stamp so reminds me of all the needlework my Mum and Gran used to do often using images like this and a variety of stitches.

Once I had made my masks I then got t stamping then coloured the final design with Promarkers.  I was trying to get an antique theme going on (thinking again of my Mum and Gran's needlework lol) and think, looking at the end result I did capture what I was trying to do.  A small edging stamp was used to to complete the framing of the card and finally the Birthday sentiment also from the Creative Stampers magazine.  I then used the Tim Holtz distressing tool to roughen up the edges (my stamping is not very straight on the edges so this is a cool way to disguise this and make it look part of the end result).  The completed layer was then mounted on black card.  Leaving the card base white did not look right so I ended up getting some purple children's craft paper and scrunching it up into a small ball to create a really distressed look. Once flattened out I used this to cover my card.  Finally I added some flat back pearls to the flowers and a couple of die cut butterflies in black.
