Cone of Shame

The challenge this fortnight at I ❤️Promarkers is
 'For A Boy'
and the sponsor for this challenge is Knitty Kitty Digis with a prize of Prize 3 single images to the winner (or one set).

For my card I have used the image Cone of Shame.  The dp is digitally made and was quite a challenge as I hate wasting ink lol.  That means working out where I can put the white square over the pattern area so nothing is printed in that area, that bit is quite easy but I needed this time to also have the text positioned in the right place so when I cut the paper for the design everything fitted.  Not really complaining, it was a good challenge for my old brain cell ROFL.  The digi image was printed and coloured with Warm Grey Promarkers, Aegean Cyan and Cool Aqua.  I then fussy cut the lower section of the digi to form the wavy line and placed the dp with the printed text on it behind.  An embossed layer was all that was needed to lift the image layer from the dp layer and a little bit of faux stitching on the digi layer to link in with the stitched dies used completed the card.

Baby Gangstaz Zeke

Hello folks.  We have another challenge at One Stitch At A Time so how about popping over to see all the fabulous creations by the design team.

Challenge #203

Theme 'For a Boy'

Our sponsor this week is the StitchyBear Digital Outlet with a prize of $9 to spend in the store.  To win this prize you MUST use a digi from the StitchyBear Digital Outlet.  A second prize of $3 to spend in the StitchyBear Digital Outlet will be given to an entrant who does not use a SB product.

This week I have worked with the fun image Baby Gangstaz Zeke by Rheeces Scrap Pieces.  Here I am out of my box again - For a Boy - how could I use this digi.  I can't think of a single bloke in my family I could make something for with this digi, either they were too old or would only approve of Spiderman (am I right Jay <g).  Not stuck, if I add the word tom in front of boy that that could well apply to me so I think for once I will make something for myself.  Yes - an idea, I will make a door hanger for my craft room saying as I don't have any indication from the outside of the room as to what is happening behind the closed door.  While in the UK I had bought a packed of pre cut door hangers just in case they would come in handy for a project. I have to admit, it feels a bit like cheating as I usually cut my own items but hay ho never mind.

Next I covered the pre cut door hanger with a shiny purply brown paper I have had for a while and cut the area where the hole is along with the slit at the top.
Now the fun starts, I really felt like being a mucky pup today so out came the acrylic paints - yummy :) :) :)

I blobbed the paint onto the covered door hanger and then . . . .

got my fingers really dirty with some finger smudging.  This was one occasion when I found it very hard to stop what I was doing but I had to or else it would have all become one colour hahahaha

While the background was drying I set to colouring the digi with Promarkers.  At some point I will remember to take a picture of the finished digi before I attach it to the project.  Here is a cropped image of the coloured digi.
Finally I used white peel off stickers for the text (yes my craft room looks like an environmentally hazardous zone :) :) :) If I was brave enough I would take a photo of it to share with you, I could tidy it up before hand but then I wouldn't be able to find anything :)  The digi was attached with foam tape for added dimension.

And here it is hanging on my craft room door :)
