Floral Monogram Frame II

Hello folks.  We have another challenge at One Stitch At A Time so how about popping over to see all the fabulous creations by the design team.  The prize this month is an awesome digi pack containing several images and a paper pack too - how cool is that.

Challenge #233

Theme - Anything Goes with NATURE

For this fortnights creation I am working with the image Floral Monogram Frame II by Floppy Latte available from the StitchyBear Digital Outlet.  It has been a wee while since I made a bag so time to create another one :) :) :)  I have tried to have nature running through this project in every dimension I could think of, greens and browns of the land, flowers for the beauty of nature, bark texture of the paper to cover the bag, a nature poem by Shelly, a butterfly representing living things in nature, blue bling representing shimmering water and the finally the lace and delicate die cuts to represent the intricate patterns of nature.

To begin with I printed the digi in the now lines technique. I then coloured the image with Faber-Castell - Polychromos colour pencils

Next I covered a small bag with some delightful paper a friend brought back for me from her holidays, it has such wonderful bark texture and awesome colour changes of the green/browns depending on the light.

Back to attacking the digi.  I started fussy cutting it, planning just to go around the edges and then colour in the white area with with a brown crayon but I changed my mind and fussy cut the lot.  I then mounted the digi on same paper as the bag. Behind the brown layer I then added a blue layer and added a die cut border using the die Tim Holtz - Decorative Strip Die - Filigree Border.  Finally, I printed my nature poem by Shelly, chalked the background and mounted this on more of the brown paper I used for the bag.
Time to put this to one side and work on the top of the bag.  I rather fancy a really over the top bag so am adding a bling-bling border in blue with some green lace underneath it.  As usual, to get the right colour I used white lace and coloured it with my Promarkers.
With the border in place and the digi with the die cut border also attached it was onto the final bit - a scrumptious bow and butterfly.  For the bow I used turquoise and green organza, added a dangly bit with blue beads and a butterfly charm at the bottom.  My friend Debbie recently sent me some stunning butterflies in the post and this seems the perfect creation to use one of them - thank you Debbie :) :) :)
And here we have the finished creation :)

Ellie Love

Hello folks.  We have another challenge at One Stitch At A Time so how about popping over to see all the fabulous creations by the design team.

Challenge #184

Theme 'Use A Digi'

The Prize is the full set of digi images that the DT used in challenge #182, so that's about $20 worth of digi images.. To win our main prize you MUST use an image that's available in StitchyBear Digi Outlet by any of our creators.  You can still enter with a none StitchyBear Digi Outlet image but will be entered into a separate draw to win $3 to spend in our store.

It was Tammylee's turn to pick for our group this week and she chose the cute digi 'Elmer The Love Struck Elephant' by Floppy Latte Designs.  With a digi like this I can't see what type of card to make other than a Valentine one lol

Where do I start - yes I am out of my comfort zone again, well a grey elephant and a red and white colour scheme would work, lots of hearts and lots of white space.  Now I am far from a poet but the white space just didn't work, I didn't want more patterns or dies which only left me to try out my creative writing skills (maybe not such a good idea but at least original!!!).  The elephant digi is attached to the card with a wobble - oh what fun.
