Bella

Good morning peeps, today I am sharing a Valentine card I have made using the gorgeous image 'Bella' by Conie Fong available from Sweet Pea Stamps.

This creation is for the challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More who are being sponsored by Sweet Pea Stamps.  Hope you will stop by and join in the fun :) :) :)

To begin with I designed and cut a couple of doilies, designed on Illistrator, saved as .svg and then cut with my die cutter.  The larger of the two I later coloured in a Warm Grey Promarker and the smaller one in Poppy Red Promarker
Next I coloured the super sweet image again with Promarkers
For the mat which the digi will be mounted on I wanted to try something new.  I bought a cheap sewing machine a couple of days ago as I love using lace on my cards and this really is the easiest way to attach it with little mess.  I alas only bought white sewing thread lol but my trusted Promarkers came to the rescue again :) :) :)
For the inside of the card - I embossed the front of the card before adding the die cuts so it would show through on the inside of the card.  I added a border die cut which is only attached at the bottom edge and the sides so the giver of this card can add a little something there is they wish.  A big heart die cut in white paper was added for the writing area.

Ingredients

Colouring Medium - Promarkers
Dies - Cherry Lyn Heart to Heart Doily
From my stash - lace, glass flowers and brads

SPS - First Kiss

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase and image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have chosen to work with the beautiful image First Kiss by Conie Fong which is available from the Sweet Pea Store in both rubber and digi.

To begin with I cut my card shapes using a template and white and pale pink card.  The pattern is a download by Ann Smith
Next I coloured my image with Promarkers
All the sections were folded and glued where appropriate.  I fussy cut the image and placed this on the card.  The small heart from the pattern was used for a simple sticker sentiment and I finished it off with some pale pink colour fragments and some pink hearts which were left over bits from the die cutting.
To finish off I added a pink die cut border along the bottom edge and a double heart behind the digi, some flowers and a big pink bow.
Card closed.

SPS - Love My Choo Choo

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase and image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have chosen to work with the beautiful image Love My Choo Choo by Conie Fong which is available from the Sweet Pea Store in both rubber and digi.

To begin with I coloured the lovely image using Faber Castell Polychromos crayons.
To begin with I coloured the lovely image using Faber Castell Polychromos crayons.
Next I die cut the sections for the easel card and also the train track
Using some design paper I had of a farm yard scene I covered the top circle of the card.  The base layer was covered in another design paper which had a grassy effect.  The rail track was coloured with Promarkers.
I prepared a simple flag birthday sentiment using a cut out from an old craft magazine, a toothpick and to protect the top I added a wooden bead.
The image was fussy cut and mounted on a stand.  This was then attached to the base layer of the card.  Green Flower Soft was used to cover the white card at the base.

And there we have it, a 3d Circle Easel Card :)

SPS Angel of Christmas Stars

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase an image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I decided to work with the image Angel of Christmas Stars by Conie Fong.

To begin with I printed the image and coloured her with Spectrum Noir Blendable Crayons.  I am only learning with these crayons but do love the way they blend together although I have problems with small areas lol and seem to be forever sharpening them. Once the image was coloured I then painted the background and over the wings with shimmer paint, you can see the shimmer when you hold the card up to the light which is really cool.
Next I cut my background which I designed using gold vinyl.  I have found this is the easiest way to get lacy back gounds instead of cutting card.  I then applied this to my green covered card stock.
To transfer the die cutting from the mat to the, in this case green paper, I used cheap book backing vinyl which is easy to remove.
For the inside of the card, some more green paper, I then added gold corner stickers, the sentiment and using Spellbinders Ornate Squares I created a writing area using white card for the base.
After creating several mounts for the font in golds and greens I then created an embellishment which I think really matched the image with the clear and gold bead held in a bead mount.  To finish it off a bit of embellishing reclaimed from the wrapping of a chocolate box :) :) :)
And here we have the finished card.

SPS - Snowy Joy To The World

    Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase an image from Sweet Pea Stamps for our Variation Week where the whole team are using the image 'Snowy Joy to the World' by Conie Fong.  Just for a change I decided on a bag this week :)

To begin with I cut some mountains and icebergs with my die cutter along with the text for the sentiment.
Next to pick a bag hahahaha
I added sky vellum to the top of the bag and airbrushed the back shadow mountains and iceberg shadows with of all things my Promarker called Arctic Blue - yep very appropriate.
For the front mountains and iceberg tops I opted just to add white glitter.
Onto colouring the digi.  Promarkers were used again here and the white glitter too which was placed on the white fluffy bits on the hat and bottom snow area.  Red glitter was added to the scarf and Liquid Crystal to the JOY bit to make it pop saying as it was coloured the same colours as the scarf.

    Promarkers used
Once all the elements were in place and the glitter dry I fussy cut the penguin and then attached him to the bag on his iceberg with a spring.  Well who does not like springs, so much fun.
Here you can see Mr. Penguin really slipping on the ice :) :) :)
Ribbon was attached just under the mountains and, using cyan and white organza a bow was added to the handle.  I attached two wee bells to this which really do ring - this is such a fun bag.
And here we have the finished bag, now it just needs somebody to give it to.  I am in Saudi and we don't have any penguins or icebergs here just camels and sand, and more sand, and even more sand!!!!!

    SPS - Arrival of Spring

    Sweet Pea Stamps

Hello folks, here I am again with another creation for  Sweet Pea Stamps.  Today I am sharing with you my DT creation for Artist Week  using the digi Arrival of Spring by Conie Fong.

I have a friends birthday coming up and bless her, last year I forgot.  So to make up for my thoughtlessness this year I have made her an extra special card.  My friend loves pearls and roses and I think she is going to love this one :) :) :)

I started by colouring the digi - oops forgot to take a pic of just the digi.  Here you see the coloured digi which I have fussy cut on the right hand side.  I have also used a mauve pearlised paper to line the inside of the card.
     Promarkers used.
OK - so you know I fussy cut the right hand side, here you can see that better.
Now to complete the simple bow using a pieces of lovely purple ribbon that came in a scrap bundle that was in a sale lol.
To make the charm section I used a rose metal charm and then added beads to the fishing line. Normally I use stranded cotton to attach charms but thought I would try the fishing line today.  Big bother as it had retained its coil.  To try to remove this I attached the metal charm first for a bit of weight and then held it up and used the heat gun to heat up the plastic and hopefully reshape it lol.  Worked but hot on the fingers and it did not help that my head forgot to compute that metal gets hot so big ouch when I touched the metal charm !!!!
I am adding flowers to the bow area where the charm will also be hanging.  After trimming off the metal stems of the flowers I took a toothpick to make spiral bits - hey waste not want not.
Here you see the flowers, spirals and charm attached to the bow on the card.
Now the reason I fussy cut the right edge is so that I could use acetate or in this case a clear overhead projector sheet so I could give the pearls and my friends name a floating effect.
