Captain Owen

The challenge this fortnight at I ❤️Promarkers is
 'Circles'

and the sponsor for this challenge is Paper Nest Dolls with a prize of 3 images from the store.

The image from Paper Nest Dolls I have used for our challenge is Captain Owen.

Circles, circles, circles everywhere lol.  As this challenge is all about circles I decided to create a design paper using Illustrator made up on semi transparent circles to create the sea, sky and a sun.  The image was then printed also using the circles design to carry the theme through.  I don't know what was going on, if it was me or my Promarkers but for some reason I really struggled with the colouring.  My poor Promarkers are getting old bless them lol.  To finish off the card I mounted the top image layer using foam tape and then die cut a lovely golden anchor.

The Prize for the winner is 3 Digi Images

Challenge #84
Humorous

This fortnights challenge 'Humorous' has been chosen by Hazel.

Humorous cards are always a bit of fun to make but I have to admit I find creating humour rather hard.  My rather sarcastic humour seems to be off the cuff more than thought about and if I have to think of something funny my mind goes blank :) :) Anyway, Bugaboo digital stamps always come to my rescue for challenges like this, Jodie has the most amazing sense of humour, she puts the words I would like to think of into reality lol.

For this card I used the image Gus Another Year and coloured with copics.  The backing paper is a sheet of 12x12 scrapbooking paper I got about 15 years ago in a bundle when I first started card crafting.  To finish off some very simple pink flower gems.

Zebra

The challenge this fortnight at I ❤️Promarkers is
 'Anything Goes'

and the sponsor for this challenge is IKEsART with $15 prize to spend in the store

For my DT inspiration I have used the zebra of Ike's images KRAZY KRITTERZ #1 - SET of 7.  Now I have to admit just now as much as I love colouring I am finding there are days where my concentration levels fly out the window and I just want something simple to play with and not have to think about blends, shading etc.  This image was just perfect, a really fun guy that brought lots of smiles while creating with him :) :) After the colouring and sentiment were sorted I used Pan Pastels for the background added some Flower Soft for a bit of texture where the zebra is standing.  The design paper was a fun and games, I knew I had some zebra backing paper which I bought years ago and after a few hours of hunting for it I found it was totally wrong, much too grown up and detailed for this card.  My little thinking cap needed to be put on for a few minutes to find another way to make my zebra card base backing paper.  In the end I placed a sheet of white paper on top of a piece of black paper, drew some zebra stripes and then cut both sheets together.  I then used the white sheet with the stripes cut out as my backing paper and placed this on my card then used the cut out stripes from the black paper to inlay and fill in the gaps.  Rather like how it turned out and had a lot of fun just cutting and sticking paper hahahaha.

Challenge #83
Flowers & Butterflies

This fortnights challenge 'Flowers & Butterflies' has been chosen by Debbie.

So not like me to leave a creation till late in the day to create, I don't do well under pressure lol.  Alas life got a bit busy and this one sort of caught me out but everything for a reason I always say.  I really wanted to make a thank you card for the staff of Morrisons here in Berwick, what a awesome supermarket they are being, right from the start of lock-down they have gone way beyond anything ever expected to help our community.  I am not an online supermarket shopper but times like this means I have had to give it a go as am self isolating.  So why do I praise Morrisons so highly, they have never had a delivery service here in Berwick but are our favourite place to shop.  That meant 10 weeks ago when hubby and I locked our front door to the world we needed to have some food delivered.  Our amazing daughter offered to help and we took her up on that but I felt so guilty as she is a home carer out and about, shopping for others too and I know she dreaded coming near me for fear of what else she might bring with the shopping.  I managed to get a slot with Iceland and that worked but the following week it was the same prob most other folks were experiencing, a 3 week wait for a slot so that was not going to work.  I contacted Morrisons and the manager, Sandra, was fab, she said to send her my list straight away and she would have it all packaged up for us to collect. and that they were working on starting up online shopping and delivery which would start in April.  Alas that meant me going out and I was not prepared to do that.  My daughter continued to help and I continued to feel guilty :) :).  As good as their word the online shopping and delivery started the first week in April, oh how chuffed I was until I found that, bless them, trying to do everything as fast as they could, the website was not offering the things we needed - milk, fresh meat etc. (we are not big frozen or ready meal buyers).  Another quick message via FB to Morrisons and they were so sorry but it was just taking time to set up the website and it would not be long before it was all working as it should but as I was self isolating they would pass my number over to Aaron who would call me back to arrange my shopping and have it delivered.  And that is exactly what happens, now I message on a Tuesday, Aaron phones me back normally before 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning and by lunchtime on Wednesday my shopping is dropped at my door.  How easy this supermarket has made life for us at this time, I truly thank them from the bottom of my heart.

So for my thank you card to them I really wanted it personalised so decided to hot foil the designed text using the WRMK hot tip that fits into a die cutter.  The text was designed on SCAL.  I then used a Tim Holtz stencil and Distress Inks to create my rainbow coloured panel - it has to be rainbow coloured as the wonderful staff are all carers in my eyes.  I then stamped the silhouette flowers, die cut the gold butterflies and added a couple of black pearls to each of them then completed the assembly of the card.

Japanese Lady

Challenge 132
Q is for Quartz colour palette

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and  Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

For my DT creation I have used JAPANESE LADY B/W and I coloured her with Copic markers.  The backing paper is plain pink paper which I stamped and then heat embossed the fan design.  I am so cross with myself as the sentiment looks squiff - trying to be so careful to have everything lined up and I must have blinked and I can't do anything about it other than add a sentiment tag layer on top.

Ingredients:-
  • image - JAPANESE LADY B/W by IKEsART
  • colouring medium - Copics
  • other items -  fan stamp, gold stamp pad, clear embossing powder.
